What inspired you to choose the MSRB?
Having previously worked as a public finance investment banker and then for an issuer, moving to the MSRB provided a natural next step. I have the opportunity to participate in an aspect of public finance that I think is important in order to fully understand the distinct characteristics of the municipal securities market.

What do you do on the job? Describe a typical day:
A typical day is a busy one! Most days, I spend time working on a range of different projects, which might include planning for MSRB education and outreach events, phone calls with issuers letting them know about new updates to EMMA, meetings with trade associations, and coordinating and developing MSRB webinars on rulemaking initiatives.

What I love most about my job is...
As a regulator, I think it’s important that we provide opportunities for market participants to provide us feedback, ask questions and share their perspectives on the work that we do.  Rulemaking only works when market participants understand why rules are implemented and how they can comply. I enjoy developing MSRB outreach events and webinars that provide opportunities for the MSRB to interact with and educate market participants.

My greatest achievement at the MSRB has been…
Developing my public speaking and presentation skills. In my role, I travel nationwide to issuer and trade association conferences to tell market participants about the MSRB, developments to EMMA that help enhance market transparency, and updates on rulemaking initiatives.

When I am not at work, I am...
Exploring Washington, DC with my husband and twin girls.
