What inspired you to choose the MSRB?
I liked the idea of being a part of an organization that had such a positive focus – a mission to protect the public interest. I was also really excited about the challenge that would come with being involved in the development of the new internal audit function at the MSRB. I relocated from Texas and was excited to be in the Washington, DC area.

What do you do on the job? Describe a typical day:
Every day is different, which is part of the reason I like my job! My day may consist of meeting with staff or management to discuss a business process that I am reviewing, doing research on best practices for an upcoming audit, conducting an analysis on a sample of data, writing audit reports or putting together presentations.

What I love most about my job is...
I love being able to interact with staff across the organization. Because the organization is fairly small, I have had the opportunity to work with practically every staff member at some point and have also been able to work closely with senior management. I also love that I get to do something different every day. I frequently start new projects and am always getting to learn about a new area or activity in the organization.

When I am not at work, I am...
I enjoy running and have completed 10 half marathons and two marathons. I love to cook and try out new recipes, especially dessert. I also spend as much free time as possible playing with my one-year-old pug, Mushu.
