SUPPLEMENTAL INDENTURE

An agreement entered into by an issuer that supplements the issuer’s outstanding indenture or bond contract. Often, a supplemental indenture is executed in connection with the issuance of one or more series of additional bonds under the master or bond contract. In some cases, a supplemental indenture amends terms of the master or bond contract without providing for the issuance of additional bonds. See: MASTER INDENTURE; BOND CONTRACT. Compare: SERIES RESOLUTION.
