MSRB NOTICE 2008-21 (April 24, 2008)

REMINDER NOTICE: MSRB 529 COMPLIANCE SEMINARS

The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board is reminding the 529 college savings plan community of the MSRB’s two regional compliance seminars regarding the application of MSRB rules to the sale of 529 college savings plans. 

Each compliance seminar is a one-day market outreach and educational session, where members of the MSRB legal staff, securities regulators, plan issuers and other industry participants will focus on compliance matters, recent MSRB initiatives, legislative concerns and emerging issues relevant to the marketing of 529 college savings plans. 

The seminars will be held on:

•     Monday, May 12, 2008 in Chicago, IL

•     Friday, May 16, 2008 in Washington, DC 

The seminars are open to all members of the municipal securities community, but are primarily intended for the associated persons and compliance professionals of firms that market 529 college savings plans.
