On July
29, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB), Depository Trust and
Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
will be hosting a phone-in workshop to discuss testing and implementation of
DTCC’s New Issue Information Dissemination System (NIIDS). The phone-in
workshop aims to educate underwriters of municipal securities about the new
requirement for underwriter participation with NIIDS, which becomes effective
September 30, 2008.[1]
At the
phone-in workshop, MSRB will review the new requirement for underwriter
participation with NIIDS that becomes effective on September 30, 2008 and the
requirement for underwriters to test NIIDS by no later than September 15, 2008.[2] DTCC will discuss the NIIDS
testing schedule with a detailed focus on educating and
providing guidelines meant to help firms accomplish successful testing status.
The phone-in
workshop is open to all municipal securities dealers. There is no charge
for participating; however, pre-registration is required.
