Today the Municipal
Securities Rulemaking Board (the “MSRB”) released the full agenda
for the upcoming forum on disclosure for long-term care/senior
living debt. The forum, which will be held in Washington, D.C.
on April 11, 2002, will feature leading practitioners in tax-exempt
financing and will highlight the information needed by professionals
in this sector--including borrowers, lawyers, investment bankers,
securities dealers and issuers--to be effective market participants.
Martha Haines, Chief
of the SEC’s Office of Municipal Securities, will be one of the
notable participants in the forum. Kit Taylor, MSRB Executive
Director, stated, “the MSRB is committed to working with the industry
to improve disclosure practices and is hosting this sector specific
disclosure forum in order to facilitate the dialog among industry
participants about how to effectively reach common disclosure
goals.” The forum is being sponsored by the MSRB in conjunction
with the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, the nation's
only accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities,
and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, drafters of
the featured “Draft Recommended Best Practices in Disclosure for
Long-Term Care/ Senior Living Debt.”
