Board Elects Atkinson Chairman;
Currie Vice Chairman
The Board has elected its Chairman and Vice Chairman for its 1998 fiscal year. Mr. Terry L. Atkinson will serve as Chairman and Ms. Phyllis E. Currie as Vice Chairman. They began their terms on October 1, 1997.
Mr. Atkinson is Managing Director and Director of the Municipal Securities Group for PaineWebber Incorporated in New York and has held this position since 1989. He is a member of the Board of Directors of PaineWebber, Inc. and PSA The Bond Market Trade Association and was the 1995 Chairman of the Municipal Division of PSA. Mr. Atkinson received his B.A. from San Diego State University and his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law.
Ms. Currie is Chief Financial Officer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Prior to her current position, she was Assistant City Administrative Officer for the City of Los Angeles. Ms. Currie is a former member of the California Debt Advisory Commission, and is currently a member of Government Finance Officers Association and National Forum of Black Public Administrators. She received her B.A. and M.B.A. from UCLA.
