THE MUNICIPAL SECURITIES RULEMAKING BOARD NAMES 11 INDUSTRY REPRESENTATIVES TO JOIN ITS ISSUER AND INVESTOR ADVISORY GROUPS

Alexandria, VA – The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, a self-regulatory organization with rulemaking and market information responsibilities, today announced it has named 11 municipal bond industry representatives to its Issuer and Investor Advisory Groups. 

The groups, created in 2005, are made up of experienced industry participants who meet multiple times a year to provide advice and expertise to the Board on current market issues and MSRB initiatives.

MSRB Chair Ronald A. Stack said the appointments bring to the advisory groups a diversified and accomplished set of individuals committed to the MSRB’s mission of investor protection.  “These professionals will provide invaluable insight to the MSRB and we couldn’t ask for a more distinguished group.  We are very grateful for their willingness to serve the market in this capacity.”

MSRB advisory group members hold staggered two-year appointments, which helps preserve continuity of their agendas.  Joining MSRB’s Issuer Advisory Group for the FY 2009-11 term are:

  • Jay Goldstone, Chief Operating Officer, City of San Diego
  • Walter Knorr, Vice President and CFO and Comptroller, University of Illinois
  • Robert O. Lenna, Executive Director Maine Municipal Bond Bank, Maine Health and Higher Educational Facilities Authority, Maine Public Utility Finance Bank
  • Laura Lockwood-McCall, Director, Debt Management Division, Office of the Oregon State Treasurer
  • Elizabeth McCarthy, Chief Financial Officer, Long Island Power Authority
  • Thomas J. Todorow, Executive Vice President and CFO, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

They join existing Issuer Advisory Group Members:
